Where it started
I was a small business owner, just like you.
I started my business to do the work I loved. The work I was good at. The reason customers came to me in the first place.
Somewhere along the way, that work became the smallest part of my day. The rest was admin. Scheduling. Billing. Invoices. Following up with leads. Following up with customers. Following up on the follow-ups.
I was so bogged down keeping the business running that I was losing touch with what the business was actually about.
The work after the work
The day ended. The messages did not.
Voicemails. Texts. Emails. Facebook messages. Instagram messages. Every one of them was a person who wanted something from me, and every one of them deserved an answer.
I spent endless hours replying, and I still could not get to all of them. Some I answered too late. Some I never answered at all.
Every one of those was a customer who went somewhere else. I could feel potential revenue slipping through my fingers, every single day, and there was nothing I could do about it but work later.
The stack
Five programs. None of them talking to each other.
